The Board of Governors of the Stonehenge School is responsible for the strategic direction, ethos and overall governance of the Stonehenge School. Its core functions are:

  • To set the vision and strategic direction of the school
  • To hold the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school
  • To ensure that the school’s financial resources are well spent

The Board of Governors shall be no less than 7 governors, no more than 15 governors, and consist of:

  • Up to 6 parent governors and no less than 2 parent governors
  • One Local Authority governor
  • One staff governor
  • The Headteacher, who sits ex officio and may choose not to be appointed as a governor
  • Up to 6 co-opted governors, as required to fulfil key responsibilities
