The Stonehenge School Election Results
As the Polls closed throughout the UK students at The Stonehenge School were counting the votes from their own General Election.
Candidates had been canvasing students over the last few weeks ending up with all three candidates taking to the stage in assemblies to promote themselves. Our candidates were –
Kaitlin Growcott – Conservative
Heather Newton – Labour
Harvey Tune – Liberal Democrats
After the votes were counted Harvey Tune was declared the winner with 168 votes for the Liberal Democrats, in second place was Kaitlin Growcott of the Conservatives with 139 votes and in third place Heather Newton for Labour with 83 votes.
There was a big turnout. All students involved really enjoyed the experience and learnt more about the political parties and the election process.
