“On the 5th December, the Community Engagement Team from The Royal Signals visited school to help our GCSE Computer Scientists get a flavour of what the they do, career paths and some of the technology they use. Even some Year 7’s and 8’s got a taster too! They put on two workshops, one called “Enable The Cable” where students learnt about network cables and then made a really interesting keyring. The other workshop down in the Atrium involved two soldiers talking about what they do in the Royal Signals, their career paths and explained all of the job roles available. The pupils were really engaged and asked lots of questions.
The Royal Signals have invited us down to their camp and museum to have more Computer Science workshops after Christmas.
Thanks to the pupils and the teachers involved.
